Mr. Clarence “Bud” Gayle Hash of Moneta, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 26, 2015.
Mr. Hash was the son of now deceased James Gilbert and Mary Rose Hash. Born in Volney, VA, he spent his early years in Grayson County, then moved to Marion, VA to attend school. In 1959 he moved to Roanoke, and in 1963 enlisted in the USAF. He served in Tactical Air Command and was stationed in Homestead, FL and deployed to Turkey.
In 1965 he married Helen Louise Scott from Stewartsville. In May 2015, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party at their home. In 1967, Bud and Louise moved to Maryland when he became a bus driver for Trailways. Bud and Louise later worked at Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, DC, then retired and moved back home. They became members of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Their son James still lives in Maryland. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jearlynne Gray of Roanoke, and Mrs. Debbie Sanders (Robert) of Lake Oswego, OR Many cousins who have been as close as siblings also survive.
God took him peacefully in his sleep. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the medical, nursing and caregiving staff at Bedford Memorial Hospital and Oakwood Manor Rehab facility, for making Bud comfortable and loved in his final days.
Funeral services will be conducted at Beaverdam Baptist Church, Chamblissburg, VA on Monday, November 30, 2015, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Edward Creel and Rev. Dennis Moore officiating. There will be a one hour visitation at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a reception following internment in the church fellowship hall.
