Clarence Harold Butenhoff of Moneta, VA passed away in his home on May 9, 2024 surrounded by his family, at the age of 94 years.

Born on April 1, 1930, Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Carole; his parents, Clarence O.E. and Alice Butenhoff; siblings, Allan Butenhoff, husband of Beatrice, and June Theilacker, wife of Fred. He is survived by three children; Peggy Criswell, wife of Casey, Peter Butenhoff, husband of Joni, and Holly Houlik, wife of James. He has three grandchildren; Jasmine Tesdahl, wife of Eugene, Summer Walter, wife of Andrew, and Zackary Butenhoff as well as two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Harvest Tesdahl.

Raised in Milwaukee, WI, Clarence was an enthusiastic Boy Scout. He liked Indian lore and the outdoors, was a member of the Wisconsin Hostelers, and enjoyed photography, travel, and ice cream. A man of many talents, Clarence enjoyed construction projects and problem solving and became a Journeyman Electrician. After marrying, he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and achieved a Professional Engineering certification. He worked as an EE throughout his career. He volunteered for Junior Achievement, his church, and enjoyed and supported music and the arts. Clarence was a good husband, a good father, and a good friend.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, VA 24121-1915. Memorials may be given in memory of Clarence H. Butenhoff to the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/.
