Clarence “Pop” Wiley Caldwell, 77, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017, dying suddenly. He was the loving husband of Iris Woodson Caldwell. Clarence was born August 11, 1939, the youngest son of the late William Madison Caldwell and the late Grace Callaham Caldwell.
In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by his loving daughter, Caryn Caldwell Brown (R. Lee Brown, II); daughter, Kimberly Caldwell; loving grandson, Barret Lee Brown; brother William David Caldwell (Marie); and close cousins, John and Shirley Floyd.
Clarence proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry/ Intermet after 42 years of service. He loved spending time at the beach with family, living on the farm, and caring for his cattle.
Clarence was a faithful member of Keystone Baptist Church for 45 years.
In keeping with Clarence’s wishes, a private funeral service will be conducted by longtime friend, Dr. J. Monty Fox and Rev. David J. Hill.
