Clarence Willis Moseley Jr. (Chuck), 74, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011. Born on March 31, 1937 he was the son of the late Clarence Willis Moseley, Sr. (Bill) and Helen Saunders Moseley. He is survived by his wife Dorothy D. Moseley; daughters Alice Powell and Anne Moseley; son Clarence Willis Moseley III (Willie) and wife Annette; sister Ellen Moseley Mong and husband Tom; and brother-in-law Stanley Dean and wife Lois. He was affectionately known as \"Chuckie\" to his 4 grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Bill and his 4 great grandchildren Drew, Kaylin, Trent, and Jordyn. He will be greatly missed by his beloved \"Little Kitty\".
Chuck was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was the Vice President and President of Bill Moseley Heating and Plumbing for over 40 years.
Chuck was very active in local civic organizations and was long involved in Lynchburg community sports. He was the director of the Colt league and coached in the Pony league for several years, keeping a special eye out for young men with baseball talent that might be of interest to several major league teams. He officiated high school sports for many years and was a member of the Lynchburg Athletic Officials Association as well as one of the owner/directors of the Lynchburg Baseball Corporation (Hillcats). He was the football voice of the Heritage Pioneers from the school\"™s first game in 1976 until his \"retirement\" in 2009, coining the opening phrase \"Welcome to Big Orange Country!\", and was inducted into the Heritage High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
A celebration of Chuck\"™s Life will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 6PM in the Chapel at Heritage Baptist Church with Centra Hospice Chaplain Miriam Dakin officiating and family visitation immediately following. In honor of Chuck\"™s love for and dedication to the Hokies, all are encouraged to wear their best game day gear as we celebrate his life. GO HOKIES!
The family wishes to thank those who made the last days of Chuck\"™s life easier and more peaceful, especially the nursing and rehab staff of the 6th floor at Westminster Canterbury, Crystal Meadows and Cheryl Parker of Centra Hospice and our nighttime life saver, Tony Chilton.
