Clarice Virginia Rosser Adams, 101, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Julian O. Adams.
She was born in Evington, Virginia on October 14, 1913, to the late Frank Wilmer Rosser and the late Virginia May Mitchell Rosser.
Clarice loved her family and was devoted to them. She enjoyed and was very skilled in all of the arts of maintaining a comfortable home. She was always able to create a wonderful meal with little notice and enjoyed working in the yard. Clarice was a long time member of Court Street United Methodist Church and was active in many of the church’s programs over the years. She was also a member of numerous community service organizations where she contributed her time and skills.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Julian R. Adams; three grandchildren, Laura B. Adams, Catherine A. Phillips and her husband, Van, and J. Brad Adams and his wife, Tia; Great-grandchildren, Rowena, Virginia, and Julian; her sister, Almera Harris of Bridgewater; her daughter-in-law, Mary Becker Maddox; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private burial service for Clarice will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Following the burial, a celebration of her life will be held at Peakland United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Douglas Pillow officiating.
The family will receive friends after the celebration in the Chamberlain Fellowship Center.
