Claude Morgan Carwile, Jr., 84, of Lynchburg went to be with His Lord on Sunday February 28, 2016. He was the loving husband of Eleanor Bondurant Carwile for 63 years.
Claude was born October 27, 1931 in Bedford County. He was the son of the late Claude Morgan Carwile, Sr. and Thelma Tucker Carwile. Claude was preceded in death by his brother, James G. Carwile.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James Alan Carwile and his wife, Marsha of Lynchburg, two grandchildren, Meredith C. Boyd and husband Josh and Morgan Elizabeth Carwile, and one great-granddaughter Audrey Boyd. He is also survived by a sister, Marjorie C. Montgomery of Lynchburg, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Carwile as well as several nieces and nephews.
Claude was a 1950 graduate of E.C. Glass High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country for four years in the Air Force. Claude retired from the Lynchburg Foundry after 32 years of employment.
There will be no visitation and the family will have a private memorial service.
