Claude William Neighbors, 90, of Lynchburg died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.
Claude was born in Campbell County and was a son of the late Thomas Homer Neighbors and the late Josephine Mason. He also served in the Army during World War II.
He was the loving husband of Sadie Elizabeth Campbell Neighbors for 71 years. In addition to his wife, Claude is survived by his son, Jimmie D. Neighbors and wife Donna of Severn, Maryland; two daughters, Betty Lambdin and husband William of Amherst, and Janet Werner and husband Charles of Lynchburg; six grandchildren: Whitney Kern and husband Scott, Jimmie D. Neighbors Jr. and wife Chrissy, Tara Werner, Josh Moser and wife Erin, Heather Younger and husband Lee, and Nathan Lambdin and wife Amy; thirteen great-grandchildren: J.T. and Joseph Sands, Alexa, Sydney, and Nicholas Kern, Christopher, William, and Matthew Neighbors, Cole Werner, Chase and Jordyn Moser, Noah Younger, and Fahey Lambdin. He is also survived by one sister, Elva Banton of Madison Heights.

A memorial service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg, Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 11:00 am with The Reverend Douglas Pillow officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
