Clifton Ferrell Clark

Clifton Ferrell Clark, 77, of Rustburg, VA, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010.  He was the husband of Florence Gray Pegram Clark.

Mr. Clark was born Sunday, January 22, 1933 in Henderson, NC, a son of the late Wade G. Clark and the late Lillian Haithcock Clark.  He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a retired iron worker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Steve Clark and wife, Amy; his grandchildren, Jason Tweedy and wife, Annette, Jessi Clark, and Stevi Clark all of Rustburg, and Sonya Tweedy of Concord; two sisters, Rose Clark Ellington of North Carolina and Judy Clark Renn of Virginia Beach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred C. Craven and Ann C. Earls, and a brother, Kenneth Clark.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg and other times at the residence.  A celebration of Clifton's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Concord with the Rev. Frank Casper officiating.  Interment will follow in Cumbie Memorial Cemetery in Rustburg.
