Clyde Estes Hicks, 84, of Lynchburg, died on Friday, August 7, 2015. He was the husband of Martha Ann Thompson Hicks.
Born on August 16, 1930, Clyde was a son of the late Warren and Alice Hicks. He proudly served our country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps, and worked for Babcox and Wilcox for many years as a nuclear engineer up until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Clyde leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Alice Hicks Phelps and her husband, Bill, and Roxanne Hicks; two grandchildren, Angelia Phillips Dickerson, and John Tomas Phillips and his wife, Carrie; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Dickerson, Jr., Haleigh Mitchell, and Willow and Ava Phillips; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 PM, Friday, August 14, 2015 in the Park Room at Avante in Lynchburg with Pastor Dennis S. Roberts officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #16.
