Conner Lee Dalton, 73, of Forest, VA, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was the husband of the late Magalene Rockwell Dalton for 48 years.
Born Sunday, June 1, 1941, in Patrick County, VA, Conner was a son of the late Henry Edgar Dalton and the late Mozelle Blue Dalton.
Conner is survived by two daughters: Annette Fairburn and her husband, Scott, of Forest, and Cathy McGrath and her husband, George, of Lynchburg; three brothers: Ernest Dalton and his wife, Bonita, of Sumerlin, VA, Bennie Dalton and his wife, Jackie, of Prince Geroge, VA, and Jerry Dalton and his wife, Jane, of Prince George, VA; and seven grandchildren: Dallas Evans, Mickayla Evans, Lauren Fairburn, Caitlyn Fairburn, Gabriel McGrath, Madison McGrath, and Benjamin McGrath.
Conner was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite pastimes included gardening and camping with his family. Conner was a well respected employee of RR Donnelley until his retirement, and enjoyed continuing friendship with several coworkers. Conner was a faithful member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church where he served as both a deacon and usher.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. tomorrow, Friday, December 5, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, with the Pastor Gene Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
