Cornelia Overstreet Mcivor

Cornelia Elizabeth Overstreet McIvor, 103, of Forest, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at her residence. Born March 24, 1907 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Dora Irene May Overstreet and James Alexandria Overstreet.Cornelia was a life long member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was also a retired teacher with the Bedford County Public Schools.In addition to her parents, Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Earl McIvor and a son, James C. McIvor. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Morris and her husband, A. Marshall Morris of Forest and Virginia Sutherland of Madison Heights; a daughter-in-law, Leigh McIvor of Bedford; four grandchildren, Robert L. Morris and his wife, Christina of Richmond, Cindy Morris of Forest, Tracy Saint Maxens and her husband, Tim of Bethesda, MD and Beth McIvor and her partner, Erin Curtis of Sterling, VA; five great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Margaret Ann Mason.Memorial contributions may be made to Goode Rescue Squad, PO Box 178, Goode, VA 24556.A celebration of Cornelia\"™s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM, Friday, July 23, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
