Curtis Ray Bradshaw (Curt/Bradshaw) was born on February 2, 1949, in Franklin, VA to the late Edward Mills and Martha Clara "Sue Girl" Bradshaw. Curtis was 1 of 9 brothers and 3 sisters. He was an avid fisherman and mechanic. Upon moving to Lynchburg with the Moss Family from Portsmouth, VA. Dad worked as a mechanic at Adams Motor Company and retired from Griffin Pipe after 30+ years of service. Dad enjoyed hanging with his buddies Tommy Yule, Harry Parker, Joe Jackson, Paul Alexander, Cleveland Randolph, Larry Barbour and countless more.
Curtis delighted in rebuilding old cars and his beloved fishing. Fishing was one of the central joys of his life and pass times, and when it came to frying his catch, he could throw down! He loved nothing more than getting in his boat and going out on the water with his buddies Richard and Rucker. You could find Bradshaw sitting in his favorite chair, watching his westerns or the news, while he says one of his favorite phrases “All that carrying on”.
Despite being recently diagnosed with lung cancer and congestive heart failure Curtis's love of fishing never faded. He wanted just one more time to get on his boat.
We long for the day when Jesus words will be fulfilled at John 5:28,29-"Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. In the meantime, we will continue to carry the memory of our beloved father, brother and friend in our hearts.
