Curtis Lawson “Buddy” Dean, 91, of Madison Heights passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was the loving husband of Maxine Doss Dean for over 72 years.
Buddy was born April 21, 1933, in Madison Heights, a son of the late Avery Lee Dean and Bessie Chumbly Dean. Buddy was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Julia Diane Dean of Lynchburg, and Wanda Fern Brockman (Billy) of Lowesville, a granddaughter Elizabeth Fern Brockman, two nephews, Cary McConnell and Michael McConnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Eleanor McConnell.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church in Madison Heights.
A Celebration of Buddy’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Derik Hamby officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens in Amherst.
