Cuyler Ramsey Dalton, Iii

November 6, 1978 — December 24, 2020

Cuyler Ramsey Dalton III, 42, of Forest, VA, passed on Thursday, December 24, 2020 to become our guardian angel, God’s fearless soldier.

He was the husband of Bridget Adams Dalton. In addition to his wife, Cuyler is survived by his two daughters, Harley Rayne Dalton and Cuyler Jade Dalton.

Born Monday, November 06, 1978 in Lynchburg, Cuyler was a son of the late Cuyler Ramsey Dalton, Jr. and Sallie Mason Dalton.

In addition to his wife, children and mother, Cuyler is survived by his Step-mother, Sandra Dalton; Sisters, Nancy Cole (Mike), Debbie Laucher (Tim); Nieces, Cameron Cole, Paige Hylton, Carly Laucher and Nephew, Dalton Cole; Mother-in-law, Debbie Adams and Sister-in-law, Crystal Adams.

Cuyler was a genuine man who made his mark touching lives and loved by so many.  He was a proud husband and unconditional, loving father, actively involved in every aspect of our lives throughout each day. He was our rock.  Everywhere his Harley and Jade went, he wanted to be. Though God has taken his son and lives will never be the same, we each have been blessed to carry in our hearts those countless, meaningful, irreplaceable memories that Cuyler gave us with every encounter.  A true friend. Everyone knew when Cuyler walked into any room, he really was the life of the party.  That everlasting smile on his face was contagious and he never hid his light under a bushel.  He was a hard worker, loved spending time with his family and friends and would give the shirt of his back to help anyone.  He taught us how to live life to the fullest, take not one day for granted and to deeply embrace all the little things in life which always remained most dear to his heart.  He still got excited over flavored chapstick, a pack of gumballs and sending funny pictures and videos of himself.  There are people who touch our lives in many special ways and Cuyler is surely going to be missed forever. He was a kid at heart who had a way of turning tears into laughter.  There will never be another alike.  He was the gentle giant we knew so well and will be remembered for his kind eyes, graciously giving heart and wide-open spirit.  Camping and campfire stories, trips, races, ball games, cooking, building and fixing cars, golf cart rides, shopping, gym time, amusement parks, mountains, hanging out with friends, home projects, movie nights…he didn’t miss a beat.  This man was beautiful inside and out.  He truly loved his moments with each of us and our “Cuyler stories” will last beyond our lifetime.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of Cuyler’s life will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel.
