Dale “Doc’ Lynn Helms, 52, of Rustburg died Thursday June 4, 2015.
Doc was born July 29th 1952 in Lynchburg a son of the late Nathan L. Helms and Beulah Deal Helms. Doc honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked as a welder with Delta Star. He was also a member of the Lynchburg 7th Day Adventist Church.
He was survived by his daughter Taylor Elise Helms and her mother Elizabeth Johnson both of Lynchburg, two step-children, Scotty Witt and Kristen Witt, two brothers Donley and Donald, a sister Donna, his step-mother Roberta Helms, one step-brother and three step-sisters.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Memorial service for Doc will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 7, 2015 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with Rick Rasberry officiating.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Academy or to the Old City Cemetery.
