Dale Stephens Bagby
Dale Stephens Bagby, 72, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Bedford, VA.
Born January 17, 1938, in Lakeland, FL, she was the daughter of James Bishop Stephens and Mary Helen Hodgkinson Stephens. She was a long and faithful member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Nowlin Samuel Bagby, and one brother, Austin Kinyard Stephens.
Mrs. Bagby is survived by one son, Kenneth Nowlin Bagby of Stokesdale, NC, daughter, Cynthia Bagby Booker and husband Thomas of Kingwood, TX, grandson, Mathew Booker of Munich, Germany, four brothers, Shelby B. Stephens of Glen St. Mary, FL, Thomas D. Stephens of Lake Wiley, SC, J. Austin Stephens and wife Betty of Chesapeake, VA, and John P. Stephens and wife Loreen of Forest and two sisters, Audrie Cottrill and husband Jimmy of Clearmont, FL, and Mary Andrews and husband Robert of Evington.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home with Richard W. Jett and Dr. Bryan Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Oakwood Manor for the timeless and wonderful care given to our mom, grandmother and sister.
