Dallas Quentin Hudnall, 51, of Lynchburg was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Dallas was born on January 8, 1968 in Lynchburg, the beloved and only child of William Daniel Hudnall, Jr. and Ms. Linda Hamlet Hudnall of Lynchburg.   Dallas graduated from Heritage High School in 1986 and proudly and honorably served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant.  He served in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.  While there he was baptized in the Persian Gulf.  Dallas had a compassion for animals, especially cats.  He greatly loved is cat and constant companion “Katniss”.

In addition to his parents he is survived by three uncles and four aunts,  Ronnie & Wanda Hamlet, David & Mae Hamlet of Lynchburg, Jeri Hamlet, widow of Jim Hamlet of Salt Lake City, Utah,  and Darryl and Laura Hudnall of Rustburg,  numerous cousins and  special friends Ray & Esther Simms, and his best friend through life, John Simms.

He was preceded in death by one uncle Jimmy Hamlet, his maternal grandparents, Vernard & Julia Hamlet and paternal grandparents, William D. & wife Xarifa Hudnall.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with military honors to be performed by American Legion Post #16.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his Doctors in Lynchburg, at the Forest C.V.F.P, esp. Dr. Kliner, the Doctors and staff at U.V.A, for their loving care during his stay there, and to the staff at Pearson Cancer Center.

Memorials may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society in memory of Dallas.
