Daniel Arthur Lightner

Daniel Arthur Lightner, 51, of Bedford, passed away on, Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He was born in Lynchburg on July 9, 1963, a son of John Arthur Lightner and the late, Elizabeth Ewald Lightner.
Daniel attended Blue Ridge Community Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Dan held several citations for marlin and sailfish caught offshore of the Outer Banks of North Carolina on his father’s boat.
Dan is survived by his father, John Lightner and wife, Rose; loving wife, Patricia “Trish” Lightner; three children, Chelsea Lightner, Jon Lightner and Matt Montgomery; four siblings, Kathleen Paris and husband, Michael, James Lightner, William Lightner and wife, Kathi and Linda Davis; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Elaine Vaughn; two brothers-in-law, Joe Vaughn and Ed Vaughn and wife, Regina; also numerous nieces, nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

A celebration of Dan’s life and memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2014 at Blue Ridge Community Church at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Wilkinson officiating.
