Daniel Bennett Wilson

Daniel Bennett “Danny” Wilson, 61, of Bedford passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on February 28, 1959 in Bedford VA. A son of Betty F. Jones and the late Alvin Lindbergh Wilson. In addition to his father Danny was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Philip Connors and a sister-in-law, Sandra Wilson.

Danny was a loving husband, father, son, granddad, brother, and friend. He drove a truck for 18 years, with the last 5 years driving for J.B. Hunt. He loved his family and spending time with each of them. He also loved the outdoors while camping, fishing, cooking and especially mowing his grass. Danny was also an avid music lover. He played the drums and spoons in early years.

In addition to his mother Betty Jones, Danny was survived by his loving wife of 41 years Bonnie C. Wilson; three children, Wendy Renee Wilson, Dustin Brian Wilson and his girlfriend, Tammy Caldwell and Jeremy Connors Wilson; grandson, Kian Isaiah Lamont Goode; brother, James Gilbert Wilson; sister, Elizabeth Ann Crenshaw and husband, Carl; mother-in-law, Evelyn Connors. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Danny’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Randy Krantz officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Bedford. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service also in Tharp Chapel.
