Daniel Brian Connelly, 55, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
Born in Bath, N.Y. on March 24, 1962, Daniel was a son of the late Thomas Richard Connelly and the late Mary Rose Lorgan Connelly.
Daniel is survived by his brothers, Francis Connelly and wife, Cindy, of Williamsburg, Va., and Walter Connelly and wife, Maria, of Manhattan, N.Y.; his aunts, Rita Wood of Seminole, Flo., Patricia Todd and husband, Charles, of Elmira, N.Y., Kathleen Stermer of Elmira, N.Y., Joan Dins and her husband, Bill, of Medford, Ore., and Theresa Gourley Connelly, of N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Isobel and Amelia Connelly of Manhattan, N.Y., Nick Carter of Va., and Amanda Rash of Mo.; grand nephews, Calab Carter of Va. and Gabriel Rash of Mo.; and grand niece Ray Anna Carter of Va.
Daniel was an exceptionally talented man who at a young age could play saxophone, piano and several other musical instruments. He was also a talented actor, singer, and dancer, who was quick to learn a foreign language.
While at UNC Greensboro he earned a BA in Theatrical Arts. He was always cast in leading roles. He earned rave reviews for many of his college plays and was called an extraordinary talent for his age in the role of Charlie in the play “Da”.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m., November 8, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A funeral mass for Daniel will be held at Noon, November 8, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
