Daniel August Coradazzi, Jr., 87, of Amherst, VA passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born on December 3, 1936 in Waterbury Connecticut to the late, Daniel August Coradazzi, Sr. and Gertrude Lucian Coradazzi. Daniel was the devoted husband of Edith (Edie) June Peterson Coradazzi. In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by his sister Beverly Coradazzi Brown, brothers-in-law, Robert Gallagher and George Brown, and his daughter Adrienne Louise Coradazzi.

Daniel faithfully served in the United States Navy, beginning at age 18 as an Enlisted man. He retired in 1979 as a Master Chief. After his military career, Daniel worked for Babcock & Wilcos in Lynchburg. VA for 19 years as a Nuclear power plant tester/technician.

In 1989, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Lynchburg College. He was the first of his generation to obtain a college degree. In 2001, Daniel attended Lynchburg College's *Alumni Admissions Liaison Volunteer Program Summer Training Weekend.* Afterwards, Daniel enjoyed helping the Alumni Office with events throughout the year including welcoming freshmen to campus and helping them to move in, and facilitating participation in Relay for Life. In 2014, Daniel was on the Steering Committee to organize his 25% class reunion.

Daniel enjoyed daily yard work. He was a member of The Nature Conservancy, Arbor Day Foundation, and the local Horticulture Club.

Daniel is survived by his wife Edie; his two sons, Daniel Angelo Coradazzi, III, and David Augustine Coradazzi; his daughters-in law, Dymphna Mary Flanagan Coradazzi and Anne Elizabeth Beedenbender Coradazzl; six grandchildren, Clare Coradazzi Weeks and husband Collin, David Anthony Coradazzi, Daniel William Coradazzi and wife Lily, Danielle Angelina Coradazzi Joseph and husband lan, Dominic Gabriel Giovanni Coradazzi and wife Laly, and Gabriella Lucia Maria Coradazzi; and six great-grandchildren, Ellen Adrienne Weeks, Abigail Grace Weeks, Jane August Coradazzi, Margaret Lee Coradazzi, August Lee Joseph, and Peter Brogden Joseph; and his sisters Dolores Coradazzi Gallagher and Bernadette Coradazzi Graziosa and her husband Joseph and many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Daniel’s name. 

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Amherst, VA.
