Daniel Kier Schmucker

­­­­­­Daniel Kier Schmucker, 49, of Lynchburg passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Lynchburg after a long battle with cancer.  He was born June 14, 1964 in Pittsburgh, PA.  Dan built and ran his own business, Assurance Agency Enterprises, LLC.

He was an active member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church. Dan was involved in their mission trips, men\"™s ministry, audio tech, and taught Sunday school.  He said that he would go through his sickness again if just one person would come to know Jesus as their Savior.  Through all the ups and downs of his battle, he continuously glorified God.

His interests included computers, dabbling in the stock market, his motorcycle, and spreading the Gospel.

Mr. Schmucker is survived by his wife, Beth Schmucker; his beloved cat, Katy; his mother in-law, Betty Gramer of Minnesota; his brother in-law, Brian Gramer of Minnesota; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Schmucker and his mother Kay Davis Schmucker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 7 pm at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 12:00 at West Lynchburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Putt officiating.  There will be a private burial in Rockbridge County with a motorcycle escort.
