Daniel "Duran" Walter Powell
On Wednesday, November twenty-first Dan went to sleep on the couch and woke up in heaven. Retired from construction, he was a talented woodworker. Born and raised in the Windy City he loved ice hockey and all Chicago teams. Transplanted to Lynchburg he became an avid hunter and enjoyed escaping to the mountains.
He is survived by his son Jacob Powell, mother Marion Viar and step-father Massie Viar, sister Donalyn Parker, brother Lemont Powell, and two beautiful nieces Stephanie Parks and Shelley Parker.
There will be a memorial service at 7 PM on Monday, November twenty-sixth at Sandusky Baptist Church.
The family requests any contributions be made to the Sandusky Baptist Church Building Fund.
