Dan "Da Man" Jordan Sr.

Take my hand precious Lord and lead me home. On Saturday, September 28th, 2024, in the early morning, Jesus held Danny A. Jordan, Sr’s hand tightly and led him through the light to his heavenly home. Danny, affectionately known as Tony, was born on March 2nd, 1954, to the late Robert Quinton Jordan and Alice Elvy Jordan. 

Tony and his devoted ex-wife, Marjorie, had three children: DJ Jordan, Brandi L. Jordan (Rusty), both of Madison Heights, and Tarah Y. Bryant (Carey) of Goode, Va. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Alexis, Daneke, Makayla, Emily, AJ, Paris, and Londyn and one great granddaughter Jesse Ryan. Tony was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Stratton, and four brothers, Robert Jordan, Sr., James L. Jordan, Elmore P. Jordan, Joseph D. Jordan, Sr. In addition to his loving children and grandchildren, he is survived by four brothers: Charles Jordan (Kim) of Orange County, CA, Norman Jordan (Bea) of Boise, ID, Phillip Jordan (Kathy) of Mechanicsville, Va, and Stewart Jordan (Gina) of Raleigh, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Tony graduated from Amherst Co High School. After high school he joined the Navy and was stationed on the John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier where he loaded fighter jets with ammunition and weapons. After the Navy he attended VCU in Richmond, VA and majored in Business. He opened his print shop in 1980 as a government contractor until 2002. He also taught printing at Heritage High School from 1988 - 1993. He was a devoted father, grandfather, Christian and friend that will be greatly missed. 

Dad, our garden now has a void that cannot be replaced or filled. We thank God for Dad’s life, and we will forever celebrate and honor his time with us in anticipation of the family reunion when God calls us home.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights. Burial will be private.
