Daphine Smith Moore

Daphine Smith Moore, 74, died on April 15, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Curtis Moore Jr. for 54 years.
Born in Appomattox County, VA on April 6, 1941. She was a daughter of the late Carrie Martin and the late C. Roland Smith Sr. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She was also a graduate of Appomattox High School and retired from Nationwide Insurance.
In addition to her husband she is survived by, two sons; Charles Barrow Moore and wife, Jennifer of Forest, Richard Curtis Moore of Campbell County, and five grandchildren; Jacob Moore, Bradley Moore, Walker Moore, Richard Moore Jr., and Joy Moore and sisters-in-law; Norine S. Smith, Phyllis Lucado Smith, and Dorothy Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles R. Smith Jr., Christian B. Smith, Ralph H. Smith Sr., and Joel Watkins Smith, and two sisters; Mollie S. Rogers, and Mildred S. Moore.
A celebration of Daphine’s life will take place on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Providence United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jack Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the Church.
