On August 18, 2021, Daronda “Ronnie” Ramsey died after a short battle with cancer at the age of 70. Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Lynchburg, attended E.C. Glass High School and retired from Oneal Steel with 33 years of service.
Ronnie was preceded in death by her parents Robert Hartless and Doris Patsey. She is survived by her daughters; Heather Renee Childress (Chris Goode) and Ivy Ramsey Pacot; grandchildren Hannah Pacot and Rylan Peters; sister Barbara Pearson (David); stepsisters Vicky Harris (David) and Donna Lange; and nieces Mindy Thompson and Wendy Neighbors (Matt). She was also fortunate enough to have amazing friendships with Allison Almond, Patricia Jennings and Faye Castelli.
Ronnie’s sweet smile and infectious giggle will be sorely missed. She loved taking care of her girls and her grandchildren. She was an amazingly generous person who loved to read, spend time at the beach and enjoy a good glass of wine. She was fiercely independent right up until the very end.
A memorial service celebrating Ronnie’s life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home on Breezewood Drive in Lynchburg on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM with a family visitation immediately after the service until 4:30. The family will receive friends at the home of David and Barbara Pearson after the visitation at 706 Sunnymeade Road, Rustburg VA.
