Darrell E. White, Sr. 87, of Moneta, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was the loving husband of the late Mattie Belle Trent White.
Born February 14, 1930 in Weston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Magnus C. White and Thelma Hall White.
Darrell served his country in the United States Navy for 26 years. After serving in the Navy he became a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, flying airplanes and talking on his ham radio.
Darrell is survived by his son: Darrell E. White, II and his wife, Miki; daughter: Belinda W. Goode and husband, Mark; grandchildren: Samantha St. Clair, Jeffrey K. Mason, II, and wife, Chassidy, Bradley T. Mason and Cassidy R. Goode; great grandson: Josh M. Carroll.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Troy Keaton officiating. Military Honors by American Legion Post #16.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral home in Bedford on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
