Darrell Eugene Combs, 64, of Clifton Forge went home to be with his Lord Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence in Evington.
Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. But loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Melvin Lee Combs and Mary Elizabeth Combs. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Vess Combs and two brothers Gary Combs and Thomas Combs, Sr.
He leaves behind a son, Kevin Eugene Combs (Pam) of Evington; two daughters, Tammy Sue Tyree of Evington and Heather Elizabeth Combs (Bucky) of Milboro, VA; three grandsons, Brett Combs and Bryson Allen of Evington and Samuel Combs of Rockbridge County; two granddaughters, Khloe Combs of Covington and Mackenzie Howard of Rockbridge County; two brothers, Ronald Combs (Janet) and Steve Combs (Annie-AKA Lucy) both of Madison Heights. A step brother, Roger Hite (Isabella) of Warsaw; two sisters, Gwendolyn Lucadamo (Darren) of Lynchburg and Shelia Swift of Evington; three step sisters, Maxin Shipp (Harvey) of Ruckersville, Pat Snyder and Carol Scott both of Clifton Forge; and eight nieces and eight nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge. Family will receive friends at 12:00 pm until time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pearson Cancer Center, Lynchburg General Hospital and Centra Hospice for the care and kindness given to Darrell and his family.
