David Michael Bomar, of Lynchburg, peacefully passed surrounded by his loved ones, on October 18, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1956, to James Henry Bomar and the late Arlene Knuckoles Bomar.
David graduated from E.C. Glass High School, after high school he began his 29 year career as a professional firefighter for the City of Lynchburg, from which he retired. After retirement, David enjoyed golfing and spending time with kids and grandkids.
In addition to his mother, he was preceeded in death by his two brothers, Stuart Allen Bomar and Russell James Bomar.
David is survived by his father; three children, Christopher Michael Bomar (Jamie), Lindsay Danielle Demshar (Kevin), and Kindsay Nicole Maulbeck (Chris); 10 grandchildren; one sister, Ann Bomar Wade (Michael); one niece, Carin; and one nephew, Cameron.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in the fellowship hall from 2 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Fire and EMS Department.
