David Vincent Eberle

August 27, 1946 — October 6, 2024

David V. Eberle, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2024. A native of Albany, NY, he was the son of the late George Eberle and Janeth Whittemore Eberle. David was a devout Catholic and a United States Navy Veteran. He was the former site manager of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. of Reidsville, NC. He had been with the Reidsville Fire Department as a call fire fighter and EMT. Also, a member of the Reidsville Fire Fighter Association and served as past president, on the board of the Reidsville Fire Department Relief Fund and chairman. Dave also with Rockingham Co. EMS, past chairman of Reidsville Kiwanis and past Chairman of Holy Infant Catholic Church Parish Council. A member of the United States Power Squadron holding several positions, including position of Squadron Commander, and a very active member of Smith Mountain Sail and Power Squadron. He was a certified vessel safety examiner, United States Power Squadron instructor for all classroom courses & on the water training. Also, a Virginia State instructor for Safe Boating. For the last eight years, was a member with Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue Dive department. During this time he was the training officer, planned and conducted all fire training and took over training of all new members on boat operations. He was also a Board of Director and sat on the Water Safety council. Dave worked diligently to achieve U.S. Coast Guard Master 50-Ton license. Additionally, a recent member of the Unites States Coast Guard Auxiliary and achieved his “Boat Crew” qualification. 

Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor to many.

He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam “Dolly” Eberle; daughter, Erika Kuepferle and her husband, Eric of Greensboro; son Aaron Eberle and his wife, Angela of Stokesdale; four grandchildren, Austin Kuepferle and his wife, Julie; Kaityln Kuepferle, Cassie Eberle and Adam Eberle; sister, Marilyn Eberle; brothers, Paul Eberle, Peter Eberle and his wife, Kristen; cousin, Mark Randall. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Donna Eberle and brother Stephen Eberle.

For friends and family in North Carolina, Interment will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens at 7875 US-158, Reidsville, NC 27320, on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 am. For friends and family in Virginia, a Funeral Mass and celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Trinity Ecumenical Parrish at 40 Lakemount Dr, Moneta, VA 24121, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. All are welcome at both services.
