David Gene Johnson

David Gene Johnson, 57, of Lynchburg, died on Sunday, April 17, 2011. He was the husband of Martha Lise Kjeseth-Johnson for seventeen years. David was born in Great Falls, Montana on February 16, 1954, a son of the late Robert W. Johnson and the late Rosemarie Funk Johnson.

David is survived by his son, Hunter Pharis Johnson; his daughters, Siri, Steena, and Synnove Johnson all of Lynchburg; his brothers, Eric Johnson and wife, Sarah of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Marc Johnson of Ormond Beach, Florida; his sister, Robin Johnson of Great Falls, Montana; his former wife, Laura Pharis of Lynchburg and the family pet, Patches the Cats.

David graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master\"™s Degree in Fine Arts. He was a photography professor at Randolph College and an activities manager with the Lamano Agency. David was a painter, photographer and printmaker. He leaves an amazing body of artistic work which can be found in museums and corporate collections both nationally and internationally. He was the first master printer for the Tandem Press at the University of Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
