David Lynn Sullivan

August 5, 1951 — January 2, 2015

David Lynn Sullivan, 33, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, January 02, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Wednesday, August 05, 1981 in Baton Rouge, LA, David was the son of John and Jackie Lynn Bass Sullivan.

In addition to his parents David is survived by his fiancée, Gina McChesney, of Lynchburg, his maternal grandparents, Herman and Faye Bass, of Jacksonville, FL, an aunt, Virginia Wanat and her husband, John, of Brooksville, FL, four uncles: Newton Sullivan and his wife, Illma, of Brooksville, FL, Jackson Sullivan and his wife, Barbara, of Tallahassee, FL, Robert Sullivan and his wife, Bonnie, of Brooksville, FL, and Robert Bass and his wife, Brenda, of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jackson and Icle Sullivan.

David was a kind, compassionate, and loving person. He was grateful for family and friends and for all the love shown to him while he was in the hospital. Through his long battle with cancer he never complained or had pity on himself. Well-liked by everyone, he will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. January 7, 2015.  A celebration of David’s life will be conducted at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, January 07, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with Chaplain Wayne Lanham officiating.
