David Norris Fulcher, 71, of Forest, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, May 30, 2020. He was the husband of Suzanne Alcock Fulcher for 52 years.
Born Thursday, March 31, 1949 in Lynchburg, David was a son of the late Percy Edward Fulcher and Dorothy Norris Fulcher.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother Nathan Edward Fulcher and his son Landon David Fulcher.
In addition to his wife Suzanne, David is survived by his children, Kelly Fulcher Pinkham and husband Brian, Carter David Fulcher and wife Tiffany, four grandchildren, Lydia Grace Pinkham, Landon Joseph Pinkham, Hayden Lynn Fulcher, and Madison Ray Fulcher; his brother Percy Leonard Fulcher and wife Janet, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
David was always known as a “gentle giant”. He was also known for his ability to fix anything, his sense of humor, his strength, his kindness, and his laid back demeanor. David was a hard worker and loved working on cars, building houses and anything else he could think of. David loved to work hard but he also loved to play hard. David was a 43 year veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard as a Maintenance Shop Foreman. Those that worked for him say that he was a great leader, always looked out for his people, and was the definition of leading by example. Although the military was a large part of his life, David was first and foremost a family man. His wife, children, and grandchildren always came first. David was a member of Forest Baptist Church and above all of his accomplishments and abilities was a true servant of His Lord and Savior and always put others’ needs before his own and would never hesitate to help anyone.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
