David Ray Donovan

David R. Donovan of Eagle Rock, VA died Thursday, 16MAR2017, at his residence with family at his bedside. He was born 22SEP1946 in Princeton, WV, the son of the late George E. Donovan and Betty B. Donovan.  He is survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Anne Taylor Donovan; 2 daughters, Missy Donovan Fonseca(Meli, Gaby) of Gastonia, NC, Suzy Donovan Welch(Deane, Taylor) of Salem, VA and a son, Christopher D. Donovan(Nia) of Roxboro, NC.  He is also survived by his brother, Steve Donovan(Judy) of Roanoke, VA and Becky D. Paule(Lane) of Anchorage, Alaska and several nieces and nephews.  David served in the US Navy for 11 ½ years.  He served as the pastor of Horeb Baptist Church in Millboro, VA for 14 ½ years.  He also worked for the Mountain Regional Hospice for a short time.  He was active in the SWVA Emmaus Community as well.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested for:  Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteer Fund, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422; Kairos of Virginia directed to the advisory
