David Scott Smith

David Scott Smith, 42, of Bedford, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at his residence.  Born November 14, 1967 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a son of Louise Inman Coffey Smith and Loyd Terrell Smith, Jr. of Bedford.



David was a member of Bedford Baptist Church and the Bedford Area Family YMCA.  He was currently employed as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Garman & Proffitt Physical Therapy in Lynchburg.   He loved his coworkers at Garman & Proffitt and his many friends at the Bedford YMCA.



In addition to his parents, David is survived by a brother, Loyd Terrell Smith, III and his wife, Robin of Kennesaw, GA; two nieces, Kayla Smith and Hannah Smith; a nephew, Loyd Terrell Smith, IV; an aunt, Jean Coffey; an uncle, The Rev. John Coffey and his wife, Dorothy; numerous cousins, Camille, Laura and Scott Coffey, Kit Coffey, Mary Scott Tuck and her husband, Steve, Scott Hazel and his wife, Karen, Paige Coffey, Chloe Coffey, Henry Gregory and his wife, Betty and David Gregory and his wife, Courtney; a great aunt, Helen Gregory; special friends, Evan Scott, Steve Goode, Ron Fowler, Deborah Forgie, Tony Valley and Mike Wray.  He was preceded in death by a very special friend, Robert Forgie.

A celebration of David\"™s life will be conducted at 3 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Bedford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating.
