David Wilson English, 65, of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord Monday February 22, 2010. He was the husband of Karen Gaubatz English the love of his life, his best friend, and his wife for 46 years.
David was born April 11, 1944 in Rocky Mount the son of the late George English and Eva Woody English. He was retired as a resident engineer with the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Joseph English and his wife Minerva of Culpeper, his daughter Maria Shelton and her husband John of Halifax County, a sister Ramsey Ann McNeil and her husband Carl of Christiansburg, six grandchildren Adam, Lacey, and Corey English all of Culpeper, Zachery and Lindsey Shelton both of Halifax County, and Cpl. Jacob Shelton, USMC, currently serving in Afghanistan and his wife Crystal, two great granddaughters Autumn and Chloe Shelton, a nephew Nick McNeil and his wife Selena of Christiansburg, and their children Cody and Olivia McNeil, his mother-in-law Hazel Gaubatz of Rocky Mount, and countless other family and friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday February 25, 2010 at Victory Christian Fellowship with Pastor Ken Parrish officiating.
