“Zig” David Zegarelli, age 43, of Forest, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone he came in contact with.
“Zig” graduated from Rustburg High School in 1990, after which he entered into the U.S. Navy serving his country honorably and was a long-time employee of Teva in Forest, Va. Along with spending time with his family, “Zig” was passionate about the outdoors. His hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and golfing.
“Zig” is survived by his wife, Mindy Zegarelli; children, Dakota and Madisyn Zegarelli of Forest. He was preceded in death by his father James Zegarelli, Sr. “Zig” is also survived by his mother, Brenda Zegarelli of Lynchburg; stepmother, Tammy Zegarelli of Madison Heights; brother, James Zegarelli, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Amherst (Abigail – niece); sisters, Angela Zegarelli of Madison Heights (Sabrina – niece), Carrie Payne of Madison Heights (Caleb – nephew), and Adrian Payne of Madison Heights; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kitty and Bill Bowen; also many other loving family members, friends, and “good buddies”.
Mindy asks that if anyone has a fond memory or story about “Zig” to please share them so that Madi and Cody will always remember their daddy. Those can be emailed to [email protected].
A public visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Heritage Baptist Church Worship Center, 219 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502. A private family Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
