Dean Harvey Sherwin, 73, of Evington, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 9, 2015. He was the dedicated husband of Ellen Ruth Sherwin for 54 years.
Born January 2, 1942 in Flint, MI., he was a son of the late Alton and Marjorie Sherwin. Dean proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force before opening his own auto repair shop. Dean was a faithful, loving servant of God and his family. He was a humble man who always put the needs of others ahead of himself. Dean always had a song in his heart and he could be heard whistling wherever he went.
In addition to his wife, left to cherish Dean’s memory are his sons, Jeff Sherwin and his wife, Elaine, of Fredericksburg, Va. and Jason Sherwin and his wife, René, of Evington, VA.; daughter, Melanie Nestor, and her husband, Tom, of Wixom, MI.; brothers, Dale Sherwin and his wife, Susan, of Lansing, MI. and Harold Sherwin and his wife, Christine, of Davison, MI.; sister, Lola Crandell and her husband, Dean, of Hale, MI.; grandsons, Kyle Sherwin, of Hagerstown, MD., Trevor Sherwin, of Fredericksburg, VA., Joshua Nestor, of Wixom, MI., James Sherwin, of Evington, VA.; granddaughters, Brittany Scheidell, of Colorado Springs, CO., Ellen Nestor, of Wixom, MI., Kristina Sherwin, of Evington, VA.; great-granddaughter, Bella Sherwin, of Hagerstown, MD.; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sherwin.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday, October, 13, 2015 at Living Word Baptist Church. A celebration of Dean’s life will follow at 6 p.m. at Living Word Baptist Church. A second visitation will be held at Lakes Bible Church, 309 Decker Rd., Walled Lake, Mi. from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015. The second celebration of Dean’s life will be held at 5 p.m. at Lakes Bible Church.
