DEDRIC’S STORY
HIS JOURNEY BEGAN IN LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA ON DECEMBER 22, 1998. HE WAS THE LOVING AND DEVOTED SON OF TIFFANY TAYLOR AND DENNIS MEGGINSON JR. DURING HIS YOUNGER YEARS, SHY WAS VERY ACTIVE AND EXCELLED IN SPORTS. HE PLAYED FOOTBALL WITH THE BRUINS TEAM, SANDUSKY MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HERITAGE HIGH SCHOOL. HE PLAYED DIXIE YOUTH BASEBALL, HERITAGE HIGH SCHOOL B TEAM, AND BASKETBALL WITH SANDUSKY MIDDLE SCHOOL. HE WAS GOOD AT FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL, BUT SAID BASKETBALL WASN’T HIS GAME. HE SAID SHOOTING THE BALL WASN’T EASY AND HIS DEFENSE WAS AWESOME. HE RETIRED HIS BASEBALL JERSEY IN EIGTH GRADE WHEN HE RECIVED AN EYE INJURY WHICH HE WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT. SHY WAS A VERY SMART YOUNG MAN AND TOOK ADVANCED CLASSES IN SCHOOL. 2017, THIS IS THE YEAR OF HIS GRADUATION. HIS FAMILY WILL BE RECEIVING HIS DIPLOMA. SHY HAD A LOT OF TALENT. HE WAS A COMMEDIAN, ALWAYS MAKING PEOPLE LAUGH. HE WAS A VERY PROTECTIVE BROTHER AND FRIEND. HE WAS LOYAL TO HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. HE WAS A GOOD PERSON AND WAS LOVED BY MANY, YOUNG AND OLD. AS WE REFLECT ON SHY’S LIFE, WE ARE BLESSED WITH SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES. CHERISHING THOSE MEMORIES ARE HIS PARENTS; HIS SISTERS, TAMIYAH MEGGINSON AND MY’IESHA MEGGINSON PARRISH AND STARDAJA CASHWELL; HIS DEVOTED GRANDMOTHERS, KAREN TAYLOR AND MARTHA MEGGINSON. THEY ALL HAVE A LOT OF GOOD STORIES TO REFLECT BACK ON. HIS GRANDFATHER, CEDRIC TAYLOR HAS SOME THINGS TOO. SHY’S DEVOTED GIRLFRIEND, DAYJA THOMPSON, WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HIM. HE HAD LOTS OF AUNTS, UNCLES, COUSINS AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, ALONG WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF FRIENDS, INCLUDING HIS EXTENDED FAMILY AND HIS BOYS. A LEGACY OF LOVE IS WHAT HE LEAVES TO US. TO KNOW HIM WAS TO LOVE HIM. SHY WAS NOT PERFECT; HE MADE SOME BAD CHOICES IN LIFE, BUT THIS LAST HE IS SAID TO HAVE DONE IS NOT TRUE AND THIS WILL BE REVEALED BY THOSE WHO TRULY LOVE HIM.
Shy’s journey on this side came to an end on May 16, 2017.
His journey began on the other side .
We love him, we miss him, but we will see him again!
