Della Marie Adkins Wilson, 87, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, November 11, 2018. She was the wife of the late George Andrew Wilson, Sr. for over 68 years.
Della was born on April 7, 1931 in Bishop, Va. a daughter of the late Dave Adkins and Allie Nichols Adkins. Della was retired from General Electric and was a member of Boonsboro United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, George Wilson, Jr. (Pam) of Madison Heights, and Norris Wilson (Gail) of Forest; three grandchildren, Raul Wilson, Crystal Grubbs (Randy) and Brittany Wilson; one great-grandson Greg Grubbs; two sisters, Jean Hamlett and Sue Buchanan; four brothers, Dwight Adkins, Lonnie Adkins, Don Adkins, and Erskine Adkins; a special friend Debbie Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. Adkins and Kenneth Adkins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Boonsboro United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Della’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Boonsboro United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Boonsboro Ruritan Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boonsboro United Methodist Church, 113 Coffee Road Lynchburg, VA 24503.
