Dennie Ray Arrington Sr., 87, of Bedford, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020.  He was the husband to the love of his life, Bea, for 45 years

Born Thursday, December 22, 1932 in Bedford, Dennie was a son of the late John Wesley Arrington and the late Reaver Gillispie Arrington.

In addition to his parents, Dennie was preceded in death by his oldest son, Dennie Jr., two brothers, Bobby and Charles, three brothers-in-law Otis Sandifer, James Little, James R. Scruggs, two sisters-in-law Della and Barbara.

In addition to his wife, Dennie is survived by son, Joseph and wife Diane of Lynchburg, and daughters, Stefanie A. Feese and husband Jamie, their children Ramsey and Riley of Forest, Cindy Zich of North Carolina, Denise Hutchinson of Florida, Pam Norman and husband Harley, of Lynchburg, one brother, John Wesley Arrington III (Pete), and wife Dorothy, sisters Dorothy Sandifer, Iris Little, and Peggy Tyree and husband Butch, and one sister in-law, Frances S. Coleman.  He is also survived by countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends that always felt like family. Dennie touched the lives of everyone that he encountered.

Dennie was everything a man should be, hardworking, loyal, kind, loving, and honest.  He was the historian of Abert Road, a loving husband, adoring father and the best big brother. He was our very own Dr. Dolittle. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude. Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
