Dennis “Dickie” Witt

Dennis \"Dickie\" Edward Witt, 79, of Bedford, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. Born July 27, 1932 in Buchanan; he was a son of the late James Corbit Witt and Ethel Ferrell Witt.

Dickie served in the US Army in Korea, 1951 \"" 1952. He loved bird hunting, trout fishing, and was a great gardener. He was a member of Bedford Christian Church.

Dickie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Scott Witt; their daughter, Shelby Witt Klaiber and husband, Mike; a grandson, Chris Klaiber, father of the great-grandchildren, Haley, Madison, and Emily; a granddaughter, Jessica Klaiber; a sister, Betty Witt Wilkerson; a brother, William J. Witt; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ken Burger officiating. Interment will follow in Longwood Cemetery.
