Dennis Lee Overstreet

Dennis Lee Overstreet, 60, of Bedford passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at his residence. He was born on December 30, 1960, to James Royal Overstreet and Marie Shepherd Overstreet. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.R. and Eula Overstreet and maternal grandparents, H.V. and Rennie Shepherd.
Dennis was the President of Overstreet General Repair, Inc. where he worked for 48 years. He was also an active member and deacon at Thaxton Baptist Church. Dennis was a devoted, husband, father, pap pap and son. He loved to ride his motorcycle and work on his antique vehicles. He also loved Disney World. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Shelby Burton Overstreet; children, Kelly Gregory (Brooks), Laura Overstreet, Christina Overstreet and Amanda Watson (Gary); grandchildren, Carter Gregory, Samuel Gregory, William Gregory, Emmalyn Chasson, Sage Haskins, Bella Overstreet, Wyatt Watson, Cody Watson and Daniel Settle; niece and nephew, Brittany Harris (Justin) and Christopher Overstreet; brother, Allen Overstreet (Lori); father and mother-in-law, James and Doris Burton; special brother-in-law and co-worker, James L. Burton.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kelly Haverty and Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Ethan Strickler and Rev. Randy Krantz officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
