Dennis Carl Russler

Dennis Carl Russler, a devoted husband, father, and a proud Navy veteran, passed away on January 21, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy as an officer aboard the USS Trout. Following his military service, he dedicated 50 years of his professional life to BWXT, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impact; his never ending file cabinet was legendary.

Dennis found joy in the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. These passions brought him peace and fulfillment throughout his life. He enjoyed old time bluegrass music and watching science and history shows and “The Moonshiners” on TV.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy; his children Patrick and his wife Heather with their daughter Zoe from Raleigh NC, Jason and his wife Tatiana with their daughter Dora from Germantown Maryland, Morgen Smith from Manassas VA, Sean Russler from Richmond VA and Hannah Russler from Forest VA. Dennis’s love for his family was unwavering and unconditional.

In accordance with his wishes, Dennis asked that anyone who wishes to, should make a donation to Brook Hill Farm 7291 Bellevue Rd, Forest VA 24551 or a charity of your choice. 

He will be cremated and interred in the columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to his service to the nation.
