Derek Brian Hensley, Sr.
Derek Brian Hensley Sr., 57, of Forest, VA, died Friday, January 24, 2014. He was the husband of Nancy Ann Holsinger Hensley for 26 years.
Born Thursday, September 13, 1956 in Washington, DC, Derek was a son of the late Howard Homer Hensley and the late Laura Long Hensley.
In addition to his wife Nancy, Derek is survived his children: Derek Brian Hensley, Jr., and his wife Jennifer, of Seattle WA, and Joseph James Hensley, of Forest; two grandchildren, Winter and Lily Grace Hensley, of Seattle, WA, a sister, Laura McNeely and her husband Pharr, of Charlotte, NC, a brother, Douglas Hensley, of China Grove, NC, a special cousin, Wyatt Davis, of Forest, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Derek was preceded in death by a grandson, Orin Hensley, a brother, Larry, and a sister, Cheryl.
Derek was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His grandfather taught him to play the harmonica as a young man. This was something he enjoyed very much.
