Devin Robertson

Devin Robertson, 33 of Lynchburg, Va, passed away suddenly on August 13th, 2024. Devin Delayon Robertson was born on August 18, 1990, to Maria Brown and Avery Robertson in Lynchburg, Virginia. Devin passed away suddenly on Tuesday August 13th, 2024 after suffering complications. 

Devin graduated from Heritage High School in 2008 and went to obtain his bachelor's from Ferrum College in 2013. Devin began his coaching career in 2017 at Dunbar Middle School where he found his love for coaching and helping the youth. Devin has always been an amazing coach thanks to Michael Chambers who believed in him and showed him the way. Devin later began working at Amherst County Public Schools where he worked as an instructional assistant and coached the girls' basketball team. He had a significant influence on the community and was loved by many. Devin was a member of Jericho Baptist Church where he helped with many youth activities. In Devin's spare time he enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, recording music, photography and making people laugh.

Devin is survived by his loving wife Kayla Robertson; 5 children Jayden, Alonzo, Scarlett, Mariell and Delaya. His Parents, Maria Brown and Thomas Alexander. Grandparents, John Robertson and Martha Robertson. Siblings, Avery (Destiny), Shauna, Tyus, Trevel, Valeria, Christopher, Desmond, Darryl, Shawn, Tamia, Tierenni, Ashley, Whitney, Wendell and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Devin is preceded in death by his father Avery Roberston Sr., grandmothers Ethel Brown and Marie Logan, brother Cortez Younger, and nephew Shawn Johnson.

Funeral arrangements are being held by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, INC. 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on August 19th, 2024, from 6pm-8pm at 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg Va 24502. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 20th, 2024, at 2:00P.M at Jericho Baptist Church, 606 5th Street, Lynchburg Virginia 24504. Following services family and friends are welcome to gather at Kayla and Devin's home. 243 N Five Forks Road Amherst, Virginia.
