Dexter Maurice Bowling Sr.

d. May 26, 2020

On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, Dexter Maurice Bowling Sr, “Church Boy”, completed his journey on earth to crossover into the heavenly afterlife.

Born November 9, 1966 in Lynchburg, VA Dexter lived everyday as a praiser for Christ.

Looking over his life, Dexter spent his child hood in Diamond Hill making a name for himself by standing up for his family and always having their back. On November 10,1990, Dexter married the love of his life Angelia and started their 30 year covenant. True lovers, together they shared memories that will last an eternity. Dexter’s love and smile were infectious and would bring happiness to anyone blessed to cross paths with him. He opened his home to everyone and will always be remembered for his whistle, smile and wave from his front porch. He is best known for his love of music as he carried a mini speaker with him everywhere to share and play old school music along with praise and worship. Now, he will be able to jump for joy and praise the lord endlessly.

To his family, Dexter was and will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, papa, brother, and son. He was the foundation of the family who represented a strong backbone composed of love, fight, praise, and passion. His memory is cherished by each of them.

Dexter leaves to reminisce and celebrate his life with rejoice through his mother, Mary Ellen Bowling, his wife, Angelia Bowling, his children, DiJuan Bowling, LaJuan Bowling, Brittany Clark, Dexter Bowling Jr. (Keina), Daniel Bowling (Courtenay),along with 13 grandchildren, his siblings, Regina Toms of Lynchburg, Ruth Toms-Canada (Walter) and Nancy Carter of Amherst, and Belle Thomas (Leonard) of Roseland, Virginia,  and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
