Dianne Arrington James

Dianne Arrington James, 71, of Forest died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital following cancer related complications.  She was born on October 3, 1938, in Bedford County daughter of Louise Coffey Arrington of Forest who survives and the late Roy R. Arrington.  She was a graduate of New London Academy and retained strong ties with her community.



She began her professional career with Central Virginia Mental Health Services and was instrumental in establishing a halfway house for transitioning mentally challenged adults from an institution to an independent living facility.



Dianne was a devoted member of Court Street United Methodist Church, Lynchburg and was a Regional Training Coordinator with the Virginia Employment Commission for 23 years before retiring in 2009.



In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Lewis A. \"L.A.\" James, III and his wife, Kathryn and Dawn Denise James-Cappiello and her husband, Chris both of Chesterfield County, Lynette Dianne James of Lynchburg; two brothers, Barry P. Arrington and his wife, Dawn of Lynchburg and Larry R. Arrington and his wife, Betty Jean of Forest; also three grandchildren, Kelsey Cappiello, Austin Cappiello and Haleigh James.  The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to Dianne\"™s special friends, Charlene Bolling and Chris Wright who have been by her side during her illness.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010           at the Tharp Funeral Chapel, Lynchburg, with the Rev. Larry Davies and the Rev. C.
