Don Carmichael Steeples, 64, of Lynchburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
Born on October 23, 1953, in Lynchburg, Don was a son of the late William Edward Steeples, Sr. and the late Aubrey Elisha “Tillie” Steeples.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby Flynn “Bunny” Steeples and Wilbert Lee “Buzzy” Steeples. Don is survived by a daughter, Monica Morton of Maryland; a sister, Jean Marie Tweedy of Lynchburg; two brothers, William Edward Steeples, Jr. and his wife, Arlene, and Lester Francis Steeples of Lynchburg; a devoted friend and companion of 36 years, Daryl Lamont Ward; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was a former employee of Young Moving and Storage Company and retired from Knight Moving and Storage Company.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Lynchburg General Hospital, Virginia Baptist Hospital, Guggenheimer Nursing Home, and the University of Virginia Medical Center for the exceptional care given to Don.
A memorial service for Don will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018. A repass will follow the service at 811 Pierce Street, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
