Donald Brice Hite, Jr. passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 after a long illness. Donald was born in Alleghany, Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald Brice Hite, Sr. and Evelyn Anita Battley Hite.
Donald was retired from B&W after 25 years of service, and also later retired from Allstate and American Heritage Insurance Companies as an insurance agent.
Donald is survived by his two daughters, Lisa H. Lyman and her husband, Andrew, of Amherst, Va., and Christy H. Tolbert and husband, Richard, of Forest, Va.; brother, Robert L. Hite of Lynchburg; sister, Donna H. Clark and husband, Norman of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren, Matthew Glenn Lyman, Blake Allen Tolbert, and Anna Kenleigh Tolbert; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Don’s Life from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Lanham officiating.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
